Godaddy is always the best place to purchase a domain name, but it’s not necessarily always the best place to purchase hosting. For this reason, many people will often buy their domain name with Godaddy and then get a hosting account with Hostgator.
When you do this however, you need to take additional steps to connect your domain to your hosting account, which is probably why you’re reading this post right now.
Login to your Godaddy account and navigate to domains =>> domain management.
Navigate to your domain details screen and look for the nameservers section. Click on Set Nameservers.
In the nameserver popup box, first tick “I have specific nameservers for my domains”
Next, you will need to enter your hosting account’s nameservers. You can find these in the confirmation email that your hosting provider sent to you when you first signed up for the account. If you don’t have this email for whatever reason, you can also find this information in your cPanel.
Wait for your changes to resolve. It usually changes over within a few minutes but it can take a while sometimes.
Congratulations, you have successfully changed your Godaddy nameservers.
